ABOUT CCK
Church Beliefs
We are a church that is winsomely Reformed in its doctrine and understanding of the sacraments and Presbyterian in its church government.
CCK holds firmly to the biblical doctrines taught in Scripture and summarized in historic creeds and confessions like the Westminster Standards (Westminster Confession of Faith, Shorter and Larger Catechisms). We use the word “winsomely” because we want to lovingly and graciously help other people see the truth as it is taught in the Scripture.
Our Philosophy of Ministry
4W
Worship
That each member, each family, and each congregation as a whole glorify God through regular, knowledgeable, and heartfelt prayer and praise and through the dedicated use of time, treasure, and talent.
Welcome
That each member, each family, and each congregation as a whole glorify God through loving, caring relationships with others in the family of God
Word
That each member, each family, and each congregation as a whole glorify God through the consistent, diligent study of His Word (the Bible) and through loving, practical obedience to His Word in our daily lives.
Witness
That each member, each family, and each congregation as a whole glorify God by bringing others to faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (and thus into the family of God with us) and by bringing our community, nation, and the world under the Lordship of Christ, through what we say and how we live.
Church History
The Beginning...
2008
In 2008, UPH realized the need for a chapel for its students, so the UPH Sunday Chapel was held in the same year.
Initiating the Presbyterian Reformed Evangelical Church Movement for UPH Alumni
2013
As the UPH Sunday Chapel grew, the awareness that the church needed to have a more significant role in worship also developed. This is why in 2013, Dr. James Riady encouraged Dr. Ric Cannada and Dr. Niel Nielson to begin a church planting movement focused on providing Presbyterian Reformed Evangelical churches for UPH graduates serving in YPPH schools and Siloam hospitals.
Dr. Ric Cannada was appointed by the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) as the official “Evangelist” to establish the Presbyterian Reformed Evangelical Church of Indonesia (GPRII), reflecting Reformed theology in Indonesia, founded on the following:
- The Holy Scripture
- The Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms
- Church governance based on the PCA Book of Church Order (BCO) with some revisions
The Establishment of Christ Chapel Karawaci (CCK)
2021
By God’s will and grace, CCK was finally established in 2021 to serve the people in the greater Karawaci area that includes UPH and YPPH communities.
This movement represents the best opportunity for planting a church! The main focus, or core of this movement, for GPRII is to work with UPH alumni (who have worshiped at CCK and KPC during their studies at UPH) to form the core group and provide leadership in starting Presbyterian Reformed Evangelical churches and chapels of GPRII, with the goal of influencing and impacting Christianity in Indonesia through the holistic ministries of churches, schools, and hospitals, all rooted in Reformed teachings.
